Oregon Inlet Striper Fishing, Outer Banks Rock Fishing Charters
Did you know that the current Oregon Inlet and Outer Banks Striper Fishing, especially winter striper fishing, is the best striper fishing action that the entire mid-Atlantic region has seen since the 1970’s? Due to over fishing, the striper, or rock fish as many locals call them, were at the brink of complete annihilation. Commercial fishing, unregulated recreational striper fishing, and just plain over fishing caused the striper to all but disappear from the ( OBX ) Outer Banks striper fishing grounds.
But the 1990’s brought with it some very good striper fishing which has continued right up through today. With new re-stocking programs from different organizations, government, and marine biologists the striper came back strong. Striper were everywhere from the Northeast regions to the Chesapeake Bay Bridge Tunnel, to right here off of Kitty Hawk, Nags Head, and Oregon Inlet rock fishing regions. Just about anywhere there was saltwater you can find great striper fishing including most Outer Banks fishing grounds where there is a good chance you will catch a very large trophy sized striper.
