Oregon Inlet Fishing

Oregon Inlet Fishing

Steve Coffin from Chesapeake VA brought his sons and friends, Joe Vigeant and the veteran angler Bert Ambrose from PA to partake in some Oregon Inlet Fishing  and land a blue marlin apiece, in the gulfstream waters of the Outer Banks of North Carolina. His neighbor John helped land some the 58 dolphin and also a couple of yellowfin tuna that filled an action packed deep sea fishing trip out of the Oregon Inlet Fishing Center. The offshore action was non stop in the morning with tuna and dolphin hitting at the same time; this created the ole chinese fire drill with multiple hook ups on school sized dolphin while Steve was in the chair fighting a 40 pound yellowfin tuna. This offshore action continued for about 40 minutes when we quit to clear up a bit and organize the tackle. Wrong, with only a few baits in the water we were attacked by a two blue marlin in the 150 pound range; one on each teaser. Joe caught one in about 4 minutes and the other got away. It took only about 5 minutes of trolling time and another blue marlin hit the short rigger for Bert and it put on an epic display of jumps close to the boat; He landed the 100 pound fish in about 10 minutes. Thanks to all
